But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you “wise” for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3;14,15
As a student of the Word of God I just have to pause from time to time to consider the heights and depths of Almighty God, His Wisdom, Love, and Grace.
The emphasis on HIM, my Savior and Lord is breathtaking. I see in this Timothy passage the value of eternal wisdom and how it comes through “faith” in Christ Jesus. This is not an easy believing faith that some name and claim. It is the KNOWING and CONFESSING and HUMILIATING faith of a sinner in need of a Savior. Timothy became a true believer because holy, wise God drew Him through the Scripture. The Holy Spirit worked in his heart to recognize his need through the written Word of God. Help us Lord to value your Word and be trained by it. (2 Timothy 2:16) Amen
May the Lord bless each of you,
