Godly Wisdom - 2016
Week Twelve

Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, and a branch from his roots will bear fruit and the Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him, the spirit of Wisdom and Understanding, the spirit of Counsel and Strength, the spirit of Knowledge and the Fear of the LORD. - Isaiah 11:1-2

This passage from Isaiah is prophetic in nature. We see that Jesse was the father of King David. The Messiah would come from this family line.

The Branch mentioned here is a title for Messiah. (Is.4:2) These Spirit empowered qualities would all enable the Messiah to rule and reign effectually. Isaiah prophesied of Messiah Jesus. He embodied the Godhead. His Wisdom is Eternal and Perfect. Righteousness reigns in Christ. May our life’s desire be to search God’s Holy Word, obey it and share it with others. Help us Lord to rejoice in Your completeness and power to save to the utmost. Use us to share Your message of Hope with those most needy today! Amen
