Godly Wisdom - 2016
Week Fifteen

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments; His praise endures forever. Psalm 111:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction. Psalm 37:30-31

We now come to the foundation of wisdom living. We see in Psalm 111 and Proverbs 1 the Key to Godly Wisdom. Since Week One we have talked about many truths to gain Godly Wisdom. All are essential. In these two verses we see the One Essential that is a must - before all the others. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. What does this mean? Its foundational truth needs careful consideration. This "fear" can be translated reverential awe, admiring, submissive fear in the receiving of spiritual knowledge and wisdom. To receive this wisdom requires action and obedience! (More next week)
Lord, help us to be sold out to You and Your pathway in every area of our lives each day! Amen.
