Godly Wisdom - 2016 Week Twenty-Two
Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city. Yet no one remembered that same poor man. Then I said: wisdom is better than strength, never the less the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard. Words of the wise, spoken quietly, should be heard rather than the shout of a ruler of fools. Wisdom is better than weapons of war; but one sinner destroys much good. Ecclesiastes 9:15-18
This story reminds me of the rich man and Lazarus. Status in this life will bring loud sounding advise but folly is its end game. In God's economy status is not measured by fame or fortune. It is rather gained by obedience, faith, trust and wisdom giving by God's Word. This is the way of a healthy fear of the Lord! We see in these verses that wisdom spoken quietly is more powerful than the microphone. We are to utilize the gifts of God's Spirit and His Holy Word to live quietly, speak softly and walk with integrity. This way of living will yield fruitfulness unto God. Lord, keep our lives, our words and actions founded upon You and strengthen us for the days to come. Amen.
May the Lord bless each of you,
