Godly Wisdom - 2016
Week Twenty-Five

As for these four youths God gave them knowledge and intelligence in every branch of literature and wisdom; Daniel even understood all kinds of visions and dreams....As for every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king consulted them, he found them 10 times better than all the magicians and conjurers, who were in all his realm.
Daniel 1:17,20

The story of Daniel and his three companions is rather revealing and encouraging. These were young Hebrew men taken into captivity in Babylon. Their status was elevated due to their education and family heritage, but this is not what stands out. It is specifically God who gave these young men knowledge and wisdom. Daniel had even more understanding as is witnessed later in this amazing Book. We see that even the pagan king became amazed and aware of their gift. When compared to the pagan wisdom of this world, God, by far, is visible in these young men. Even in their exile, God is using them to His glory.
The pursuit of God's wisdom is significant. These men were gifted by God. Christians are given God's Holy Spirit.
God, help each of us apply Your truth to our lives daily. Amen.
