Godly Wisdom - 2016 Week Forty
The LORD said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, this month shall be for you the beginning of months ... Tell all the congregation of Israel that on the 10th day of this month every one shall take a lamb ... without blemish, a male a year old, and you shall keep it until the 14th day of the month, when the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill the lamb at twilight. Then they shall take some of the blood and put in on the doorpost and the lintel of the houses in which they eat it ... And when I see the blood, I will pass over you and no plague will befall you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt. Exodus 12:1,2,3,5,7,13
The introduction to the Passover in Exodus 12 is powerful and revealing truth. God has a perfect plan, and we see His Plan being implemented in this historical event. Again, a lamb and blood are key ingredients in the Covenant Promise which began in the beginning of time. As a final thought, consider this ... the Passover lamb was, in those days, believed to be killed at about 3 p.m. This was the same time of day that Jesus, our Passover Lamb, died. (See 1 Corinthians 3:7;Luke 23:44-46) Help us Lord to be thankful for Your Perfect Sacrifice to pay our sin debt in full. Amen.
May the Lord bless each of you,
