Godly Wisdom - 2016
Week Forty-One

And God spoke these words saying, I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything, that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the 3rd and 4th generation of those who hate Me, but showing steadfast love to 1000's of those who love Me and keep My commandments.
Exodus 20:1-6

When was the last time you actually read these first 2 commandments? The 1st one is clear "you shall have no other gods before Me!" There is only One True God! God began our History at Creation and has established His Covenant Promise and the pattern of faith and righteousness ... which comes through obedience. Now in Commandment 2 He states clearly - no carved idols, images or objects are to enter our hearts and minds! God is at the Center and is to be our Top Priority in all things! Notice He gives a curse for disobeying and a blessing for obedience.
What is our 1st priority today?
Is it God or is it that idol of __________?
Help us Lord choose You now and always. Amen.
