Weekly Devotional - Week 8

As Christians do we listen to God? He speaks through His Word! Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. 1 John 3:4
Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as He is righteous. 1 John 3:7b
By this it is evident who are the children of God,and who are children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother. 1 John 3:10

It is clear there are only two kinds of children. One belongs to God and the other to the devil. It's so very important to understand true righteousness because it is the earmark for genuine saving faith in Jesus Christ. There is only One Gospel Truth, and it is found only in the Savior! To know Him is to know Truth. To know Truth is to know and believe His Word ... to know and believe His Word means "surrender."

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. This is the true way of the Christian and the one who is abiding by His Word!
