Weekly Devotional - Week 14

Listening intently to God's Word is a matter of extreme importance and requires a heart of regeneration by Holy Spirit power. John states in 1 John 3:23-24: This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commands us. The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

Believing, loving and obeying are the three evidences of true salvation. The gift of the Holy Spirit abiding in us gives to our lives the ability to obey and love as He loves.

As believers we are to reflect this amazing and awesome gift. We are redeemed because of Jesus. What an amazing love He has bestowed upon us! We are to be loving one to another as He has been toward us. When we ponder and practice these truths we are obeying Him. The world will see us and just maybe that one who has wondered
might just seek us out.

Help us with the follow through to love
as You loved us, Lord. Amen.
