Weekly Devotional - Week 16

Jesus answered and said to him, If anyone loves Me, he will KEEP My Word; My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. - John 14:23

Jesus is clear here - IF I love Him I will keep His Word. This is obedient believing. It also comes with action - Conduct. Conduct is therefore action taken by the believer through the power of the Holy Spirit producing fruit in keeping with God's righteousness in the life of the believer.

Paul tells us this: Therefore prepare your mind for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not conform to the former lusts...but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior, because it is written, You shall be holy, for I am holy. 1 Peter 1:13-16

Help me Lord to walk obediently according to Your Word. Remove the former lusts of unbelief and worldly passions so that my heart for You will be pure and holy. Amen.
