Christian Character & Conduct - 2017 Weekly Devotional - Week 19
Because of the proof given by this ministry they will glorify God for your obedience to your confession of the gospel of Christ and for the liberality of your contribution to them and to all, while they also, by prayer on your behalf, yearn for you because of the surpassing grace of God in you. Corinthians 9:13-14
Christian Character and Conduct were a testimony of God's power in changed lives to the Corinthian church. These believers were asked to contribute to those needs of the Jerusalem church family. The majority of believers in Jerusalem were Jews. The Corinthians were Gentile. The sincerity of the gift was evident in the love the Gentiles had for their fellow believers in Jerusalem.
The prayer the Jerusalem believers offered on behalf of the Corinthians demonstrates a unity of faith and the powerful testimony the true church has ... all because the Spirit of God is at work in the Body of believers in both places.
Help me Lord to contribute to the needs of those that are struggling today. Show me how I can give generously from the heart and to honor You. Amen.
From my heart to yours,
Sandra J. Mikler Davis for the team at Women in Discipleship P.O. Box 694 - Goldenrod, FL 32733 sandydaviswid@earthlink.net / womenindiscipleship.org
