Weekly Devotional - Week 21

Therefore, know that the LORD Your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.
Deuteronomy 7:9

The character of a person reveals the heart attitude. From Deuteronomy 7 we see God’s Character. He is faithful. He keeps His promises. He is merciful. The 1,000 generations reference refers to God’s infinite faithfulness to us. He qualifies these character qualities toward “those who love Him and keep His commandments.”

In the New Testament book of Colossians 3:12-14 we see further how the conduct of God’s elect are to live ... Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering, bearing with one another, and forgiving one another ... even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. Lord, help us to be this kind of Christian each new day. Amen.
