Christian Character & Conduct - 2017 Weekly Devotional - Week 22
Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exult you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7
We hear the word “submit” and it seems contrary to our worldly nature. Yet here we see a character issue that is vital to Christian Conduct. This submission is one of humility and grace. God is in charge of our lives. He is the center of our world. He truly cares about me in all things.
Listen to David as he describes it (Psalm 34:1-3). I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exult His name together. Lord, help us to be humble before You and toward one another for Your glory and honor. Amen.
From my heart to yours,
