Christian Character & Conduct - 2017 Weekly Devotional - Week 23
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6
Jesus taught with such authority. In this Sermon (on the mount) Jesus teaches the people what true righteousness yields. How can we apply this teaching to our lives? First, we see that blessing comes in being hungry and thirsty for “righteousness.” As water and bread sustain the physical body so will desiring and seeking and searching after God’s righteousness bring nourishment to our souls. It’s simply stated, desiring to know and follow God and His righteousness, not worldly wise righteousness.
God’s Word reveals His righteousness. Blessing comes to those who seek, search and apply God’s Truths in their lives. This brings a filling that includes God love, peace and true joy! Help us Lord, to hunger and thirst more for YOU! Amen.
From my heart to yours,
