Christian Character & Conduct - 2017 Weekly Devotional - Week 28
As we continue to explore the many passages of Scripture regarding Godly Character and Conduct we have seen how clear God’s Word is for the Christian lifestyle of His redeemed children.
Listen to these words from 2 Corinthians 1:12: For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that we conducted ourselves in the world in “simplicity and godly sincerity” not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, and more abundantly toward you. The Apostle Paul is describing his simple and godly sincerity toward the Corinthian believers and the unbelievers as well. We are to be like-minded in our lifestyle and our behavior. Paul tells us something profound in 2 Corinthians 2:17 that should cause us to pause and consider. Listen to these words: For we are not, as some, peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ. What he is saying is that God sees our hearts and knows our motives. May these motives be pure and glorifying to God alone! Amen.
From my heart to yours,
