Christian Character & Conduct - 2017 Weekly Devotional - Week 30
I recently was reading in 2 Chronicles 16 about King Asa. His early reign was one of faith and trust in God - but when he was older he put faith in worthless man and forfeited victory for his people. This sad ending for Asa reminded me of John’s Revelation where the Lord warned the 7 churches to hold on - to be steadfast - overcomers - to the glory of God. As a Christian, my one hope is to be steadfast until He calls me home or He comes again.
Jesus tells us in Revelation 13:20-21: Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and will dine with him, and he with Me. He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me at My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. Help us Lord to be willing, at any cost, to share the truth of who You are. Amen.
From my heart to yours,
