Christian Character & Conduct - 2017 Weekly Devotional - Week 48
The conduct we exhibit is reflective of our true character. As Christian’s we are to follow the will of God as taught in Scripture. Both Paul and Peter give sound advice for the Christian to follow.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right ... and you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord ... bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters ... knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is slave or free ... and you, masters, do the same thing to them, giving up threatening ... (Ephesians 6:1a,4,5,8,9a) See also 1 Peter 3:1-7. We all have a job to do (Ephesians 2:10). We are to follow God’s principles and practices in our daily lives. If we are walking in obedience and faith, this task is actually a comfort and guide for us. Christ’s light shines in a Christian who willingly and obediently practices fruitful work as unto the Lord. Help us Lord to shine for You in our daily duties. Amen.
From my heart to yours,
