Christian Character & Conduct - 2017 Weekly Devotional - Week 49
This time of year is reflective of a special event in history! Preparations for the birthday of Jesus, the Messiah of promise (Genesis 3:15). Jesus lived a perfect life. His life was lived in total submission to His parents (Luke 2:51). His willing obedience to His Father proved to be the perfect solution to our sin problem.
As we celebrate the birth of our Redeemer, I pray we not lose sight of HiStory of Redeeming Love! His life on earth was humiliating, powerful, obedient to His Father. It was filled with trials, heart ache, and separation from His Father in heaven. Yet for our sake He endured the Cross and purchased our Redemption and hope of heaven. HiStory of submission should cause us to desire to be submissive to Him, His Word and the Call on our lives to obey Him, rejoice in Him and be submissive to those in authority over us as per His instructions. Listen to these words: Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God ... pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes, revenue to whom revenue, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is due. AMEN! (Romans 13:1,7)
