Living a life of thankfulness can be very challenging. As I study Scripture, I see so many who faced challenges continually but who through their adversity exhibited a spirit of thanks. Paul, in 1 Corinthians 2:14 though discouraged, decided to write: But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Him everywhere.
If Paul had discouraging days, who am I to complain? Giving thanks pulls us out of the mire and worry of doubts, and pain. We begin to open up the window shades to see what is truly life and peace as Christ intended.
Help us Lord to not focus on the here and now of the fallen world but of You and how You have rescued us from the mire and given us a hope and future with You. Amen.
