Our Hope in Christ
Week Six - 2019

The Old Testament word for Hope means: to wait, to expect, to be patient, to tarry. For the next few weeks we will examine passages that, I believe, will encourage us as we see Old Testament believers grapple with life's difficulties, yet with HOPE in the certainty they had that God is their Deliver and Lord.

Psalm 42:5,11 and Psalm 43:5 each repeat these words: Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him, my Salvation and my God.

This solemn Psalm is intense in nature. The Psalmist is in a drought of soul. There are mockers who torment him. We see that there is one Anchor for his soul. HOPE in God! He had the answer to his heartache. He had to endure a season of severe drought of soul.

When we have such a season, I pray we too hold on to the True Anchor – God our Savior! Amen.
