A great example of faith, HOPE, and assurance come to us from the Book of Job. A memorable and convicting verse is found in Job 13:15 ... Though He slay me, I will HOPE in HIM; yet I will argue my ways to His face.
Let me assure you, Job is not being arrogant toward God in this passage. He is stating his case before his accusers. He knows his position before God and he is ready to die trusting in God. He has true HOPE in His Savior! He even will defend his honor before God. We know his story. God did reveal Himself to Job, and Job was speechless! Never the less, His full HOPE was in God alone! He had full assurance of faith in His Lord. If you know the story, Job was vindicated and God restored his family and homestead.
May we live lives of assurance, faith, and reverence toward You, Lord God! Amen.
