Comfort of heart is something every Christian longs for and receives in Christ.
Last week we looked at Psalm 31. This week we will see more comfort in Psalm 33:18-22: Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, on those who HOPE in His steadfast love, that He may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and or shield. For our heart is glad in Him, because we trust in His holy name. Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we HOPE in You.
We see here the present and active working of our faithful God in the midst of all creation but especially on those who fear Him, HOPE in His love, and deliverance. He protects His own. He is our help and shield. We should be glad in Him because we believe and obey Him.
Help us even now O Lord! You are our sure Hope! Amen.
