Devotionals 2020 The Root of Righteousness Week Two
As we look at the Root of Righteousness we will begin where Scripture directs us first. Genesis 15:1,4-6 reads: After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, Do not fear, Abram, I am a shield to you; Your reward shall be very great ... Then behold, the word of the LORD came to him saying, This man will not be your heir; but one who will come forth from your own body, he shall be your heir and He (God) took him outside and said, now look toward the heavens and count the stars, if you are able to count them. And He (God) said to him (Abram), so shall your descendants be. Then He (Abram) believed in the LORD; and He (God) reckoned it to him (Abram) as righteousness. As we begin our journey into the true root of righteousness we see Abram, soon to become Abraham, hearing God, believing God -- and God, who sees the heart, reckoned him genuine and thus Righteousness was rooted in his heart. True faith (belief) began. The Scripture is amazing and True!
