The Root of Righteousness
Week Seven

For the next few weeks, we will be walking through the book of Romans. It is filled with amazing passages that make it clear that the Righteousness of God is our Assurance and true Hope!

For I am not ashamed of the Gospel for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, but the righteous man shall live by faith. Romans 1:16-17

Paul is emphasizing the point that, as we will see in the weeks to come, it has always been God’s way to justify sinners by grace on the basis of faith alone! Abraham, as we have seen in the previous weeks, is the model for this faith. This is why we see God call him the father of all who believe.

The passage above begins our journey. Consider the Root of Righteousness – beginning in the life of Abraham for the purpose of redemption! It is now presented to the whole world!
