Devotionals 2020 The Root of Righteousness Week 30
We continue to see the truths of the Scripture message to the believer.
In the Book of Hebrews, we have a more challenging and compelling message for the Christian to follow. The Hebrews writer is speaking to a church filled with people who heard the truth of the Gospel (mostly Jews). Some, however, were enjoying the fellowship but not walking in the Truth of Righteousness. The message is sent as a warning to church-goers to not be filled with head knowledge of Grace by faith without obedience to the truth, because obedience to Christ is a proof of true faith. Listen carefully to these words of warning:
For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are full age, that is these who by reason of use (obedience) have their senses exercised to discern good and evil.
These are truly words to take to heart for every Church-goer!
