Devotionals 2020 The Root of Righteousness Week 32
The entire Bible is filled with actions taken by people who God used to implement His Righteousness in a hostile and rebellious world. Hebrews Chapter 11 lists many of these hero’s in an overview fashion. It is a fascinating faith builder to study these faithful believers. The Hebrews study is a lesson in God’s Righteousness. Listen to these words from Hebrews 11: 32-33: And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson, and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets; who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
This passage describes actions taken by believers who walked by faith in a hostile world and God worked through them His Righteousness.
May we also live by faith in our day ... to the Glory of God! Amen.
