Devotionals 2020 The Root of Righteousness Week 51
As we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior and Lord, let us pause a moment to remember the many Scripture passages that describe who He really is. From Romans 1:6-7 we read: For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, But the righteous man shall live by faith. Remember, only God is inherently Righteous (Deuteronomy 32:4, Psalm 11:7, John 17:25, 1 John 2:1). We fall woefully short of God's perfection (Romans 3:23). But the good news is that the Gospel reveals that by faith alone – God will impute His righteousness to ungodly sinners (Romans 6:23). This is why we rejoice over our Savior, born to save all who He calls!
