Heaven Is My Forever Home Devotionals for 2021 Week 39
Lately I've been pondering the word "Legacy". We all have been given a length of time to live. The Psalms say it well: The years of our life is seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty. (Psalm 90:102)
What we do with this brief span is the Legacy we leave. We see the Apostle Paul's Legacy in 2 Timothy 4:6-8: For I am already being poured out as a drink offering and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.
The question is this: Have I loved well the Lord Jesus Christ in my daily life? Is it seen and is Jesus my One True Love? Have I communicated with God through prayer and study of His Word and have I listened to the Holy Spirit in obedience and faith?
Help us Lord to leave an eternally blessed Legacy. Amen.
