Why Genesis?
Week 5

As I have been pondering, praying and considering the truth of Genesis 1, I've realized that today our Biblical World view in the Church has been compromised. Mainly, I see in younger folk a weak and even compromising view of God's Word. The essentials of God's truth from Genesis to Revelation need to be bolstered and strengthened for the days are evil!

A scientist who lived early in the last century, Herbert Spencer, discovered that all reality, all that exists in the universe can be contained in 5 categories: Time, Force, Action, Space and Matter. Taking that discovery to Genesis 1:1 what do we see? In the beginning – that's time – God – that's force – created – that's action – the heavens – that's space - and the earth - that's matter. (Paraphrased from J. MacArthur Sermon, Genesis Part 1)

Think about it! One verse – the first verse in the Bible – accurately testifies to this discovery. God is a God of order and design. We must not compromise on our Creator God who is fully in charge and all powerful! Jesus said of Himself in Revelation 22:13, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
