Why Genesis?
Week 9

As we consider the value and worth of God's Word, I'm compelled to speak clearly about the reason for mankind's existence. Going back to Genesis we see three distinct truths revealed.

1) God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Genesis 1:27

2) And they (Adam and Eve) heard the sound of the Lord walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. Genesis 3:8

3) I (the LORD GOD) will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heal. Genesis 3:15

First, God created the world and mankind! Mankind was created specifically in the image of God.

Second, God had a special relationship with Adam and Eve. He had fellowship and union with them.

Third, this fellowship was broken when they listened to the devil and sinned against God. The only way to restore this union was for a Perfect Savior to come and rescue them from sin.

This is the Story of the Bible!
