The 6th Fiat (decree) Creationism component is both profound and applicable for our day and time.
Creation was followed by processes of conservation. (BD p. 216)
Consider these words from Genesis 2:15: Then the LORD God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it.
Adam and Eve were cultivators and keepers of the Garden. Their job was to tend to this perfect, created world. Adam named the animals, birds and beasts that God had created as found in Genesis 2:18.
Conservation was simple in the Garden of Eden. Unfortunately, the fall of man (sin) caused upheaval over all Gods creation and now we see the consequences of sin even in the landscape of our earth, the sea and the heavens. Listen to some very sad consequences from Genesis 3:17c, 18 and 19: Cursed is the ground because of you; in toil you will eat of it all the days of your life, both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you; and you will eat the plants of the fields. By the sweat of your face, you will eat bread, till you return to the ground, because from it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.
As we toil each day, remember that Jesus came to rescue us from the curse that this sin nature placed upon us.
