Creation - Biblical Doctrine

We began "Why Genesis" in January. These Devotionals have been written for the purpose of recognizing the inerrancy and full doctrine of our place in God's creative design. God speaks in Scripture from Genesis 1 through Revelation 22:21.

Thinking Biblically is essential to our Christian faith. Genesis set the stage for the unfolding of God's truth for all who would believe. God has order and design and He revealed His Power in Creation. In weeks 5-8 we looked at man's theories of how everything began. Week 9 we presented God's order in creating man in His own image. God had fellowship with man and later He would give a promise to man after man rebelled against God. With sin present, God desired to restore fellowship with man one day.

The Bible from Genesis 3:15 to Revelation 22:21 reveals His story of the future of mankind and God. The Genesis account begins this process. We will see in the weeks to come – believing in a 6-day creation – that God gave a promise for redemption, and our understanding of His Power to all things is essential to our true faith. Hebrews 11:1 states:

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
