V.23. In Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom. V.24. And he cried out and said, "Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame."
This is one of the saddest requests in the Bible. It is placed here for a reason. We see that Hades (hell) is real and torment is never ending. Our mission as Christians is to share the Gospel with everyone we can because the outcome is extreme for those who refuse the salvation message of Jesus Christ.
May our prayers and active testimony be heard wherever we go. God is the One who saves!
