V.36. At the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, Elijah the prophet came near and said, "O Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, today let it be known that You are God in Israel and that I am Your servant and I have done all these things at Your word. V.37. Answer me, O Lord, answer me, that this people may know that You, O Lord, are God, and that You have turned their heart back again."
Elijah prayed to the LORD God and was confident in His request because he believed all that God had spoken in the past. His faith was seen by God and on that day a great cleansing took place on the mountain. As we read God's Word, trust in Him alone and walk in His Truth we too can have confidence in prayer and God will do what He knows is best for us as well.
