V.29. "Now Lord, You are releasing Your bond-servant to depart in peace, according to Your word; V.30. For my eyes have seen Your salvation, V.31. Which You have prepared in the presence of all peoples, V.32. A LIGHT OF REVELATION TO THE GENTILES, and the glory of Your people Israel."
Simeon was a righteous man who looked with great hope for the appearing of the Messiah. His devout love and hope were rewarded by God when Mary appeared with the baby Jesus at the temple. He was prepared to see Messiah because His hope was in the promise of Scripture. May our hearts be excited for the promises fulfilled in Jesus Christ for our Redeemer!
