    DAY TWO

    1. Read Joshua 2:1-7. What did Joshua tell the spies, and what did they do? (v.1)

    2. According to verse 2, what did the king of Jericho find out?

    3. What did Rahab say to the king about the two men? (vv.3-5)

    4. What had Rahab done with the men? (vv.4-6)

    5. How would you explain Rahab's answer to the king?

    6. The gate was closed immediately after the pursuers left. Why do you think it was closed so quickly?

    7. How does this story about Rahab's response to the king compare to that of the Hebrew midwives in Exodus 1:15-19?

We see in both of these incidents that telling the truth would have brought great harm to the people God had appointed to fulfill His calling. These women were wrong to lie, but they were vindicated by God when it was all said and done. God knows the heart and its intent. It is God who has the power to accomplish His will in the course of historical events. (Rom. 9:15)

    LESSONS AND APPLICATIONS

    1. God provides protection for His people. Who has God used to provide protection for you? What is the best protection for a child of God? How has God protected you through His Word?
