    DAY FOUR

    Shunammite Woman

    1. Read 2 Kings 4:8-17, and describe this woman of Shunem.

    2. What do you think was her spiritual gift?

    3. How did she present her request to her husband? (v.10)

    4. How did Elisha receive this gift of hospitality from the woman and her husband? (vv.11-13)

Verses 11-13 give insight into the woman of Shunem. She was a woman of humility who was not looking for any reward for her generosity to Elisha. She did not request anything from him. She was happy to be used to bring comfort to this man of God. In verse 14, Elisha had a conversation with Gehazi, his servant. They recognized one thing that this woman did not have.

    5. What did Elisha tell the Shunammite woman in verse 16?

    6. Was God true to His promise that was given through Elisha? (v.17)

    LESSONS AND APPLICATIONS

    1. Hospitality is a gift from God to His people. What giftedness do you possess, and how are you using it for God's glory?

    2. God desires to reward those who are humble and obedient. How often do you recognize the blessings God has given you because of your humble obedience?

    3. God has the power to bring fruitfulness from barrenness. How has God brought fruit from some form of barrenness in your life lately?
