We see in both of these incidents that telling the truth would have brought great harm to the people God had appointed to fulfill His calling. These women were wrong to lie, but they were vindicated by God when it was all said and done. God knows the heart and its intent. It is God who has the power to accomplish His will in the course of historical events. (Rom. 9:15)
